Why I don't like funerals...
A week ago from yesterday I had to go to a funeral for my great aunt. This funeral was about 100 miles away, and with gas prices being what they are, my mom didn't feel like driving. We meet up with my grandparents in a gas station parking lot and rode with them. For some reason (completely unknown to me) they let my mom drive. During the long drive I heard every embarrassing story about me that could possibly be told. About five miles away from our final destination our car broke down... Five miles... So my grandparents rode home with the tow truck and the car back to their house. We got a ride to the funeral. When we got there I was creeped out, it was in the dead lady's back yard! On a golf course! I have been to many funerals but this was the first that had a full bar. While I was talking cousin from GA when he pointed to a man and told me that he was this guy that is on T.V. (For those of you how live in FL it was the appliance direct guy) who drives me CRAZY! I nearly died... right then and there... I needed two thing some time alone and some water. I looked everywhere and could not find water. After much searching I discovered it... the water was at the bar... so I go to the bartender and ask "can I get some water?" With out word of a lie he looks at me and says "WATER? You look like you need some Vodka!!!" "Ummm.... uhhh.... cough... ummm.... thanks?..." I replied. "I think I'll stick with water. When I finally found my Mom she had moved on and was talking to someone else. So, as always, I walk in at the worst part of the conversation. I walk up and hear from a cousin: "I love family reunions... their a good place to see family, enjoy good food, and find a date." My family is really WEIRD!

ReplyDeleteHAHA! Ok that was a funny read, painful to hear what you went through but generally funny. Now this could have happened anywhere not just at a funeral so don't nock funerals just because of this.
I am sorry for you, and I hope you have since recovered.
So...you created a blog for people to laugh at how lame you are...aight. I have some advice for you for future reference. If someone ever offers you vodka, TAKE IT! You prob won't get many chances before you're 21.
